Growers

We have teamed up with selected growers throughout California, Arizona, Florida, Mexico, South America, and New Zealand. We are continually doing our due diligence in order to expand our grower base so that we constantly have the highest quality and best tasting produce. By sustaining our current grower base and regularly looking to expand with new growing partners, we are able to fulfill our customer’s daily requirements for optimum product year-round. Our daily growing involvement is changing constantly, but currently we have our hands in the ground with melons, lettuce, citrus, cabbage, leaf items, asparagus, and tomatoes.

Sustainability

Professional Produce is committed to helping the environment in any way we can. Our company’s operation depends on the Earth being able to remain clean enough for fresh produce to grow properly. We do whatever we can to help preserve our surroundings. This begins at the farms and ends the minute our trucks are unloaded at the final destination. Some specific examples of ways in which we are committed to helping maintain our environment include:

Packing & Repacking

An integral part of our business relies on our ability to pack and repack various goods. We have an 8,000 square foot repack room set to a specific temperature to best suit the produce that moves through it. We have 3 different repacking crews, working on rotation 7 days a week. Repacking, place packing and running product for size, color and quality is an integral part of our business. Individually packing each box ensures the highest quality for our clients. Customer service is key in maintaining long term relationships with our clients. Carefully repacking items by our trusted employees gives us a great advantage in a very competitive industry. Additionally, we are able to print private labels that cater exactly to our specific requirements. Recently, Professional Produce acquired a Compac Sorting Equipment state of the art machine. This machine is able to run various types of fruits and vegetables including tomatoes, oranges, lemons, and grapefruit. This machine is also able to sort and pack product specifically to our customers needs whether it be into cartons, bins, or bags. Professional Produce is now able to better standardize our product while increasing our output capabilities.

Food Saftey

At Professional Produce, Food Safety is our number 1 priority. We are recognized under the Global Food Safety Initative (GFSI) with our SQF level 2 certification. We continue to improve on food safety practices and make sure that we continue to innovate and remain leaders in the food safety arena..

We follow the food safety guidelines with uncompromising detail, and no corners will be cut when dealing with your order.

Logistics

A major part of our daily operations is to make sure that our product gets to its destination in a timely matter. Managing and coordinating our own logistics puts us in charge of this. We take this very seriously and have a logistics coordinator on hand every day. Our coordinators allocate drivers to specific drop off and pick up destinations to make sure that we handle everything with the greatest sense of urgency and responsibility. This ensures that our product is received on time and with the utmost quality. In addition to our 17 trucks that run their routes daily, we outsource over 40 trucks per day to help get our product in and out in a timely matter. All of our trucks are fully equipped with teletrac to give us real-time information on where our trucks are located.
